What is Susan Gough known for?

Susan Gough served as a US Department of Defense spokesperson who for several years handled press questions about unidentified aerial phenomena, including the Navy videos and the work of the UAP Task Force.

In 2023, after former intelligence officer David Grusch publicly claimed that the US had a long-running program to recover and reverse-engineer non-human craft, Gough gave the Department's response. She said its investigators had not found any verifiable information to support claims that programs possessing or reverse-engineering extraterrestrial materials had existed in the past or exist now.

Her statement is the standard official reply to the Grusch allegations. The Defense Department's All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office repeated the conclusion in its 2024 historical report, which traced many such claims to circular reporting.
